week 9

MATH
I practiced my adding. I added long numbers like 57+45+13+26+35+48=224.
I also practiced my subtracting like 184,204-295=183,909
I practiced long division. I did ten or eleven problems. I also learned how to divide with zeroes. Like 130,000,000/1,947,000. To solve that problem you need to egnoer the zeroes, and multiply the normal numbers then add whatever zeroes are left.      



LANG ARTS
I am continuing to read Percy Jackson and the House of Hades.

HISTORY 
I am reading a comic strip on the civil war. This war in history is about the blacks and whites wanting there freedom. I also learned that having slaves released was 99.99999999999% not likely. If the master could not pay to feed and cloth all of his/her slaves then they would sell them,the place where you could buy slaves is called a slave market or a slave trade.
I also learned the different between two and to and bye and by and buy. 


SEWING 
I am in the process of making a skirt.

All i have to do is hem the bottom.

PHOTOGRAPHY
I am working on my next lesson, it is lesson 5. I  played on a website that is kinda like a camera so i can experiment with the different settings. 
I also learned about the camera triangle. In the triangle is the ISO,Aperture, and the shutter speed.     

week 8

MATH 
I completed lesson 14. I got 16/20 right, so i got 80%. In that lesson I practiced my adding and subtracting in my head and i practiced my word problems, Also in that lesson i learned how to multiply two numbers in my head. I also learned how to multiply zeros in a big number in my head. I practiced my division.
I practiced my long division. 


LANG ARTS 
I am reading House of Hades. 

I am reading it every night for at least an hour or two.
I am at the part where Percy and Annebeth are being rescued by the titan Bob. Hazel is controlling the mist in the fight with Sciron on the mountain.
I am practicing my cursive and how I am doing it i am righting famous quotes like " Its better to be alone then in bad company" Gorge Washington.

  


S.S
I am reading  another be-forever book. 
It is called Caroline,1812. That war the Americans called war on Britten. Both sides where salvaging for men and ships so when they could they would take ships and kidnap men. 


SEWING 
I got a sewing machine, its a Brother.

I plan to make a costume for Halloween.

I also made a barbie blanket       for Christmas.

PHOTOGRAPHY 
I turned in my shutter speed assignment.
It is cool how the shutter speed affects the picture so much. The faster the shutter speed is the clearer the picture is, and the slower the shudder speed is the blurrier the picture is.   

week 7

MATH 
I completed lesson 11. I got 17/20 right and so I got 85%. In this lesson I learned about long multiplication.  If you have an example like 72x3 you solve it using long multiplication. You will times three by the seven and the two. Then you will get your answer like this...72x3=216.  In multiplication you will still carry like in addition.
I learned how to multiply three numbers.    



LANG ARTS 
I am reading The House of Hades. 
I am reading it for about 2 to 3 hours every day and I am at the part where Percy and Annabeth are following some monsters to the house of Hades.
I am practicing my cursive and how I am doing that is I am righting famous quotes like " No one can make you feel inferior without your consent'' Eleanor Roosevelt.
I got a book called Magnus Chase.
The Author is Rick Riordan. He is also the Author of Percy Jackson.

I learned about the "ar" combination, and that "hour" and "our" are homophones. 

  



S.S 
I finished the be-forever Addy book.

It made me realize how hard the slaves had it back then. They barley had food and clothes.

I am reading a book about the civil war. It made me sad that there was so much blood. 
I am glad that we fought the war so the blacks can be free and that they can have the same rights as the whites. 

 

SEWING
I finished my big drawstring bag.

 And these are the patterns of the skirt that i am making.

This is the seam that I sewed with a zig-zag stitch.

And this is the hole pattern.

  
PHOTOGRAPHY 
I practiced taking pictures with the out side light. 
I took some pictures of my dad and some other people. The camera does not do well in the bright sun without the right settings.

week 6

                       

    

MATH 
I did some pentimonose. I made a square with them.

it took about 15 mins to do.
I am now finished lesson 10, i got 90% i missed 2.
I did lesson 11 and i learned about multiplication  like this....
34x8=272. It is called long multiplication. I did lesson 9 and I got 85% I only missed 3. I also started playing Prodigygame.com. It helps me practice my math skills. 


LANG ARTS
I am still reading Michel Vey.
I am reading it every night still for about an hour or two. It isn't as exciting as the other Michael Vey books in my opinion. 
I am now reading the House Of Hades. 

I am at the part when Hazel went in to a hurricane and she is talking to Hesta The Goddess of the Hearth. 

SS
I am making a comic strip after the book I read. It is a classic. It is called 20,000 leagues under the sea.  

I am memorizing my states and Capitals. I am using songs to make it more fun. I am also reading about Greek and Roman tools and how they use them. 
SEWING 
I have my sewing class on Monday. 
I will finished my big draw string bag. I will start on a skirt when I am done with my bag.



PHOTOGRAPHY 

I turned in my assignment. I learned about the aperture. I took pictures with different apertures to see the difference between them.
