Week 29

MATH

I did lesson 111. I learned about congruent figures.

I did lesson 112. I learned about similar figures.

I did lesson 113. I learned about perimeter, symmetry and reflections.

I did lesson 114. I learned about area calculations.

I did lesson 115. I learned about circles.

LANGUAGE ARTS

I did nose tree. I did Grammaropolis. I did ZB spelling. I did Nitro Type. I did Spelling Classroom. I did reading. I did 5 hours of handwriting. I wrote a 5 page essay on Greek Gods. 

GAME DESIGN

I started on my section 5 project. I think I will change the colors and backgrounds. Maybe a bonus level if I am feeling up to the task.

SCIENCE

 Last week I put an egg in vinegar and let it set for a week.

Here it is all clean.

It grew a little in the vinegar. It was about 3/4 that size before.

I learned about food contamination. I also learned that food should not be out for more that 2 hours or else it will go bad.

I learned about Komodo Dragons. They are an endangered spices. There are only 3,000 - 5,000 left in the world. These are the islands that they live on, Komodo, Gila Motang, Rinca and Flores in Indonesia. I learned about the most endangered animals in the world. There names are, Rhinoceros, Giant pandas, Orangutans, Lemurs, Salamanders, Porpoises, Polar bears, Asian elephants, African elephants, Jaguars, Red pandas, Wildcats, Gharials, and Sea cows.   

SEWING

I sewed yarn onto my quilt. Now it looks like a real quilt. I put it on four sides. I put it where squares meet it looks really cute.  

Week 28

MATH
I did lesson 107. I learned about Triangles.
I did lesson 108. I learned about Pythagoras Theorem.
I did lesson 109. I learned about Quadrilaterals. 
I did lesson 110. I learned about Polygons.
I did chapter quiz 13. I got 24/24 or 100%. 





LANGUAGE ARTS
I did typing. I did Grammaropolis. I did Nose tree. I did zaner blaster spelling. I did spelling classroom. I did 5 hours of handwriting. I did reading for 5 hours.   



GAME DESIGN
I did my 5th test. I got 100%. I started on my section 5 project. It is adding on to the game that I made. I am makeing 3 bonus levels. I am working on the first bonus level. 


SCIENCE
I learned how they made bread, butter, cookies, marshmallows, and bagels. I did a science experiment. I put a egg in vinegar and I am going to leave it for a week and the shell should dissolve. 



SEWING
I made a quilt. It is for American Girl dolls.

Week 27

MATH
I did lesson 103. I learned about points, lines, and planes.
I did lesson 104. I learned about angels.
I did lesson 105. I learned about pairs of angels.
I did lesson 106. I learned about lines and angle relationships.



LANGUAGE ARTS
I did typing. I am on intermediate common english words.
I did spelling. I did grammaropolis. I did zaner blaster. I did nose tree. I did brainpop. In brain pop I learned about Emily Dickinson. I learned that she declined marriage proposals. She wrote 2,000 poems in 20 years. That is 100 a year. I did Education City. I did 5 hours of handwriting.   



SEWING
I finished the makeup roll. I had 4 steps left. 1- Sew the back on. 2- Turn it right side out. 3- Iron it. 4- Do a border stitch. Here are some pictures. My mom really likes it. It holds all of her makeup very well.  

SCIENCE
I learned about corn syrup. They make corn syrup, they mix the cornstarch with water and then add an enzyme, produced by a bacterium, that breaks the starch down into shorter chains of glucose. Then you add another enzyme, produced by a fungus, that breaks the short chains down into glucose molecules. I learned that the hottest temperature in the world was 134.06 F. It was in Death Valley on July 10, 1913.  I learned about a Bull Ant. It lives in Australia. It can kill a full grown man in 15 minutes.   


GAME DESIGN
I turned in my own game. It took me about 1 1/2 months to make. It is a extended version of Ping. I call it Paint Ball*.

Week 26

MATH

I did lesson 98.I learned about fractions with powers.

I did lesson 99.I learned about taking a root.

I did lesson 100.I learned about undoing powers and roots.

I did lesson 101.I learned about Exponent of 1.

I did lesson 102.I learned about an Exponent of 0.

I did chapter Quiz 12.I got 22/24. Or 90%




LANGUAGE ARTS

I did nose tree. I did 5 hours of handwriting. I did typing. I did Grammaropolis. I did reading. I am reading the last book to the HourGlass books. It is called the forgotten locket.




GAME DESIGN

I turned in my Pest busters game. It was fun to make. I added a few details. Here are some of the pics.



Here is the start. It was supposed to be plain gray but I added a few things. I chose caves because the main part of the game takes place in a cave.

SCIENCE

I learned that a Cumulonimbus. They are lighting clouds. Nimbostratus clouds are rain clouds. I tried to make glowing paist again. This time I used water instead of HP. I did two rounds. One with cornstarch and one with baking soda. I did the cornstarch one and it would not glow. I did the baking soda one and it glowed. It lasted about 5 minutes.I learned about the largest tsunami in japan. It was 100 feet tall and killed 27000 people. It was June 18 1886.
